Yay or Nay? - 10 Quirky Contact Lenses to See

Since contact lenses were invented way back in 1950’s, it had undergone several changes – from plain clear corrective lens to colorful and quirky ones. Some were made to impress, and other weirdly designed contacts can cause stress.

Enjoy this Guest Post by Mary Joyce:  Would you give these a yay or nay?

Dragon Eyes

This contact lens might let you win a costume competition but I don’t think every one can stand staring at your eyes. This design is too taboo, not to mention it’s scaly and too brightly colored. The verdict for our first example of quirky contact lens is a solid nay!

Brown Eyes

Sexy Brown Big Eyes Contact Lenses (Pair)

Green and blue eyes are too vague while black seems to be so dull. This must be the reason why most people prefer buying solid brown contact lenses. This color can effortlessly give you a sexified look without even trying.  Yay for this contact lens!

Total Black Out

This is an intensified version of the doll eyed contact lenses with a contradicting purpose. Doll eyed lenses are made to achieve that extra “cute” and “adorable” factor while this one is made to frighten anyone that dares to stare! These eyes are commonly seen on horror movies so a big nay for this one.

Amethyst Perfection

Violet is a rare eye color. This is also an eye color made famous by the late Elizabeth Taylor. If you saw her movies, you yourself can say that it gives an insta-sexy appeal. So yay for this type of contact lens!

Eye Stitches

It’s every ones greatest nightmare to have their eyeballs stitched together. But if you want to look like one without experiencing the pain then try these contact lens. Although this type can surely scare the hell out of your friends, it’s still a big nay for its design and costly price tag.

Doll Eye

This type of contact lens is highly popular on Asian women particularly to Koreans and Japanese who want a big eyed look. It is glossy and tinted with deep black shade to create an illusion of bigger wider eyes. Yay for this cool charming look!

Bloody Red

This contact lens is a product of Nike MaxSight that is made for cyclists. It is tinted with bloody red color to reduce the road glare from the sun while biking. This can also come in handy as an extra wild factor to a Halloween costume. Although it serves different purposes, it’s still a nay because of versatility (you can’t certainly use this in the office or school without disturbing anyone).

Go Anime

Big Eye Dolly Eye Blue Contact Lenses (Pair)

If you’re a die hard fan of “manga” cartoon series and want to bring your favorite character to life, then you won’t go wrong with these contact lenses. It comes in different color, and each one is designed to imitate that sort of cartoony look. Certified yay!

Cat’s Eye

Cats have very interesting eyes. It changes in color and glows when reflected by light. But it looks creepy when transferred in human. Even though we love those fluffy felines, this doesn’t surpass our yay standards so it is a nay.

Contacts with extra accessory

I bet you can say that this is the most over the top among the outrageously designed contact lenses. The end part of the contact lens is connected to a somewhat “dangling” diamonds that look like tear drops. We can give this a score of A for effort and creativity, but for comfort and safety of use, I think every one will agree that it deserves a nay.
