The Janet Jackson Concert Experience, Chicago 2011

One word: AWESOME!  My girl Janet, Miss Jackson if ya nasty was on point in her concert and I need to be on her workout plan because sister girl was looking great!  She performed every song that I love (What Have You Done For Me Lately, I Get So Lonely, Escapade, Nasty, Again) and many more classics.  I'd been looking forward to this for months and she did NOT disappoint in the slightest, very fun evening!  Here's a picture journey of our socialite adventure:

To get started, ya'll know that I posted looking for dress opinions on what to wear, but ended up choosing the dress that I already had and hadn't worn, an Asos black and grey totally Janet-esque look that my bff gave me for Christmas with textured hose to mimic the lines of the dress and black booties:

Bought a new auburn wig too, shout out to Janet's red head days for my favorite song "I Get So Lonely"

Makeup Products used:

MAC studio sculpt foundation in NW43

NYX jumbo pencil in Slate all over lid for smoky eye (dark grey)

L'oreal HIP pigment in Intrepid (a shimmering teal/brown mix)

NYX glitter candy liner in silver on the inner corner of my eye and along the lower lash line

Sleek contour face kit for my nose (had to do the jackson nose contouring!) and cheeks

Anastasia eyebrow kit and stencil for medium arch brows

Nars Blush in Taos

Milani lipgloss in Goddess

Then BFF Ashley, Mama, Mama's Bff Nicole, and I went out to Petterino's, a 1940s style restaurant, before the concert.  There was delicious calamari, crab cakes, cocktails, the biggest shrimp for shrimp cocktails that I've EVER seen (i swear they were lobster tails, not shrimp...massive!), steak, fries, tiramisu, and key lime pie.

Nicole the birthday girl and me

Next up, CONCERT!!!!  It was held at the Chicago Theater and the whole place was gorgeous and lit up for her performance.

There was an incredible book for sale that showed lots of Janet's photos, information, biography, and more:

And now for the shoooooow (how cool is it that for the first half of the concert, she pretty much was wearing the catsuit version of my dress??? lol, notice how similar it is? totally nailed the Janet look)

I recorded so much of the concert that the darn memory card filled up RIGHT when she was doing Scream...how mad am I about THAT???  I got some of it though, she only did a very short part of Scream, probably was too much for her :(

Then she did a farewell song to Michael at the end with a bunch of their photos together on the screen, soooooooooo touching and sweet, but I believe that it's on my bff's memory card and not mine so I'll try and get that later if I recorded it.   It was "Together Again" and pretty much like this

Overall, great show, so fun and well worth the excitement and anticipation.  She rocked it out, looks to be in fabulous shape, and was a cool performer.  I definitely would go again!  Hope that you enjoyed the photos/videos.
