RPM Italian - Chicago Socialite Foodie Adventure

RPM Italian is the restaurant that Bill and Guiliana Rancic created and OH BOY....It's my favorite Italian restaurant in the city that I've had so far.  I really love the food there and don't know how I'm just now getting around to writing about it when I've been there plenty of times by now.

Last Friday my homegirl Ariel wanted to go there to celebrate her birthday because she also is super into the yummy cuisine.  The first time that I ever tried it was when I took my mom for her birthday waaaay back in June then I told BFF Ashley to try it who then told Ariel and we've all become huge fans.  Word of mouth is a wonderful thing! It's consistently fabulous and I love the decor/ambience of the place.  It's classy, beautiful, trendy, and chic.

Here are pics from both of the birthdays (Mama's in June and Ariel's this past Friday)

I'm stuck on the Lobster ravioli!  The sauce is brilliantly good with chili and lemon for zing, the filling is has the sweet flavor of lobster along with a pop of salt, and the spinach pasta is al denti perfection.

Prime beef meatballs with marinara are always on deck as an appetizer with my crew.  We LOVE how savory and light they are.  The sauce has us scraping the plate with bread.

Just like I'm stuck on the lobster ravioli, BFF Ashley and Ariel are obsessed with the Short Ribs Papparadelle.  The dish is WAY more hearty than mine, which is why I should start getting it because I'm always hungry after the ravioli lol.  I would happen to fall in love with the one Italian place that doesn't give you a truckload of food per serving.

Fig, lime, and rum drink = oh yeah!

Pine nut tart for dessert, subtle and lovely flavor, not overly sweet.

Chocolate tartufo - hazelnut gelato surrounded by a chocolate shell.  This was pretty good but I'm not a huge chocolate fan so I couldn't really rate it properly.  Chocolate fiends would rejoice!

For both birthday's, there are were these adorable mini ice cream cups that the restaurant gives with candles!

and now for the fun people pictures!
