This is the best mask that I've ever used! What's fun about it is that you hear mud mask and think gloopy brown paste, right? Not with this! It's soft white with a texture that is a mix between a gel and cream, surprised me the first time that I squeezed some from the tube!! One snazzy feature of the mask is that it goes on almost clear and then dries into an opaque white so that you know when it's done. It's mostly fragrance free, I think that I detect a tiny hint of cucumber? Or maybe my mind is playing tricks on me because I feel like I'm back at a spa, lol.
About the product:
The Silica mud is the Blue Lagoon's signature element. The pure white geothermal mud deep cleanses and exfoliates. Naturally strengthens skin's barrier function. Brings out the skin's inner glow, gives it a vital energy boost and smooth complexion. Excellent face & body mask.
If you follow me on twitter, then the other night I was practically in tears because my skin had waged a major revolt against me and my maltreatment of it. I'd been wearing makeup everyday to do the 28 Days of Black Beauty series but I was falling behind on my skincare regimen, napping with makeup on, quickly washing makeup off without ensuring that it was all gone, just all types of no-nos when it comes to my skin. WELL, in rode my white knight! This white mask soothed my skin and changed it's mind about waging World War III on my face. I'd grown 3 acne cysts over night and this diminished the pain and calmed them down tremendously. I am so thankful that I had some sort of relief for that! Nothing less attractive than huge acne spots, amiright?
I've only used it on my face so far, but my hands will be next because they take a beating during the winter. I've never used a body mask before, so that should be extremely cool to test run as well! If my face can survive it, then I know that the body will do JUST fine ;)
The Blue Lagoon Spa looks incredible! The healing properties of silica mud, algae, minerals and geothermal seawater seem like an incredible way to nourish your body and detox a bit for a glow. Anyone up for a trip to Iceland??
