Foodie Porn! Sullivan's Steakhouse - Chicago Socialite Adventures

My mom and I went out to Sullivan's, which is this really classy steakhouse/seafood restaurant downtown that I've wanted to go to for a long time!  I love checking off places on my to-do list, don't you?

Blah blah, here's the foooood:

Delicious lump crab cake that was savory with a hint of sweetness because the crab meat was so fresh.

crispy yummy calamari with a red chili sauce that had amazing zing to it!  Sweet with a pop of spice, they need to bottle that and sell it.

3 cheese macaroni!  I am a fiend for macaroni and pretty much order it everywhere that I see it on the menu...this one, however, didn't really do much for me.  Somehow, it had a HAM taste to it...why would macaroni taste of deli ham???  lol...there were no meat products in it, just a garlic crumb topping and cheeses, so I'm not sure.  Wasn't a fan of whatever cheese gave off that aroma/flavor.

For whatever reason, I've been having an intense craving for ahi tuna this past week so when I saw that there was a tartare on the menu, I knew exactly what to get.  What a REFRESHING take on it!  The creamy avocado and juicy sweet mandarin slices truly made the tuna sing on the palette, it was so very refreshing.  My mom doesn't care for ahi tuna and she was pleasantly surprised at how much she liked this, saying that it tasted like a salad on a baguette.  yum!

To finish off the meal, we had AMAZING bananas foster bread pudding.  Let's have a head bowed moment of silence for that truly epic dessert *bows head*.  ZOMG you guys!  I loooove bread pudding anyway in most variations especially without raisins as I abhor those shriveled gross things, so this one made me super excited to see that it had none.  Sweet, doughy, crisp on top with vanilla bean ice cream, banana packed flavor in the bread, and just ooey gooey warm heaven on a plate.  Yes, I MUST go back there for that again!  Top 3 best desserts that I've had downtown and I've had LOTS of them :)

There you have it peeps!  Fooooood :)  Been eating anything amazing lately?  Describe it in the comments!
