I am absolutely into the idea of contoured, sculpted cheekbones this season. Something about defined hollows and prominent highlights speaks loudly to my aesthetic!
Ya'll know that i LOVE the 80s and if they did anything right, it was the sculpted, chiseled cheeks! My girl Diana Ross did them WELL:
That chick is HAUTE! Anyway, I haven't found a powder that was dark and matte for sculpting that I like, BUT I did purchase some liquid foundation in ebony for contouring. I'm still on the hunt for a great matte powder and really like the sound of the Sleek contour kit; if only it were readily available in the U.S., but NOOOO it has a $14 shipping fee! Holy Cow! That's more than the purchase price :'( The Make Up For Ever sculpting kit is readily available in the US, but that joint is NOT cheap. Sigh, dilemma. I was just given a $20 off card for Sephora that works for orders over $40, so I may just bite the bullet and purchase it.
I tried a slightly sculpted look for work with a bit of dark liquid foundation smudged into the hollows of my cheeks with Exhibit A blush by Nars on the apples of my cheeks and MAC Gold Deposit highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones. It's not the CHISELED look that I want to eventually achieve and I guess that I need to stop being so scared with the light application! LOL, totally my fault. Anyway, here's the makeup look with red lips and SOMEWHAT sculpted cheeks:
MAC Studio Sculpt in NW43
nars blush in Exhibit A (red)
MAC Gold Deposit Mineralize skinfinish as a highlighter
MAC paint pot in Groundwork all over the lid up to the browbone
Sleek Palette's copper, dark brown for lid and outer crease
Covergirl Lash Blast Luxe in Black Platinum
Black Radiance Complexion Perfection Liquid Foundation in Ebony to contour
