Bad Girl - Book Review: Beauty AND Brains Series

I really really liked this book :D I got it on a whim because I was looking for books by another author with the last name Jaffe and thought this looked interesting. SO glad that I stumbled on it :)

Chicago "Windy" America Thomas, owner of the CHEESIEST name I've ever heard in my life, is way more serious and professional than her name would suggest. She's a brilliant criminologist who has an uncanny eye for detail (which helps a lot when reviewing crime scene photos and whatnot, think of "The Mentalist"), an awesome daughter Cate who is just too cute and smart, and a straight laced fiance who wants her to be more of a stay at home mom than workaholic.

New to Vegas, she has to prove herself as competent and more than a pretty faced blonde but she does earn the respect of the boys when she finds evidence that makes and breaks cases.

A serial killer is loose in town, killing whole families except for the fathers and Windy has to figure out what is making this madperson tick and try to halt them. It's a thrilling read because it gets into the minds of all of the characters, including the killer's, and you aren't quite sure which person isn't who they seem. Odd behaviors on part of some people seem guilty when they are really innocent while others who seem like heroes are really deadly.

Windy has to juggle her needs, her daughter's needs especially as her husband (Cate's dad) died and left a void, her new nagging fiance's needs, the case which is starting to get personal, and her thoughts about the hot head of the crime team. Whew, Windy your hands are full girl!

Great read, I couldn't put it down and am on the hunt to get Michele's other books.
